get to know Logan.
new orleans counselor
My name is Logan Williamson and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in New Orleans helping my clients address a variety of concerns about their thought processes and their success. Over the last decade I have developed several specialties including ADHD/ADD,Integrated Care, Depression, Anxiety, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (Aspergers).
educated & experienced
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rhodes College, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from University of North Texas, and an additional 2 years of graduate work at the University of Denver in Clinical Psychology.
Before moving to New Orleans, I was a therapist at Knippenberg, Patterson & Associates – a leader in the treatment of ADHD & Autism Spectrum Disorders. I consulted at Denver Academy, a nationally renowned K-12 school for children with different learning and behavioral disorders, running groups, providing support and education to their staff, and lecturing to parents and the community.
After moving to New Orleans, I worked at Loyola University’s UCC, providing therapy and coordinating successful programs vital to the health and wellness of the student body. I also worked for several years at Daughter’s of Charity. There I provided integrated Behavioral Health services, which focused on short term interventions, medication management for psychotropic medications, and adherence goals for treatment of chronic illnesses.
and . . .
Most recently, I served as the executive director of the Chartwell Center, a non-profit providing clinical, educational, and vocational services to those on the autism spectrum. There I was able to combine my varied clinical experience and strategic vision to continue my service to the New Orleans community.
on a personal note.
I served for six years on the Board of Directors of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority – one term as Vice-Chair and two consecutive terms as Board Chair. There I represented the community and advocated for effective integrated behavioral, mental, and physical healthcare for the residents of Jefferson Parish – many of whom were under-served or indigent.
Personally, I am married to a local New Orleanian and am a father to two amazing children. A musician when I have time, I also keep up to date on the latest and greatest in technology.
This website is a good example of my passion for technology, as I built this site from the ground up. It’s in its fifth iteration and seems to constantly evolve.
